We recommend a good combined wind and rain jacket, gloves, pull-over for the days off and for transport to and from start and finishing lines, buff or similar for the head, maybe a pair of warmers for the knees when in the kayak and finally a pair of shorts, since the weather in September occasionally get quite warm.
The participants must bring a mountain bike (puncture outfit and spare parts), bicycle helmet, sleeping bag, backpack for running, water bottle and a compass.
It is advisable to bring gloves for use when passing the glacier.
Equipment might be rented from the local tourist associations, but it is always the participants responsibility to have the equipment needed.
You will sleep in tents, youth hostels or the like.
GAR provides kayaks for the race - but before and after the race there is the possibility of renting them in South Greenland.
The brand is Necky and the model is ZOAR - delivered by Havkajakken in Denmark.
There are many officials and volunteers connected to the race, they will make sure the personal equipment of the participants will be available when they arrive after each stage. It is not necessary to have "helping teams" other than the ones appointed by the race management.
There are no requirements for the participants to bring dry- or wetsuits. The participants will cross water a few places along the Laps, but it is ones own decision whether to bring suits or not.
