The Open Stage, competing only on the first day of GAR'09

Do you find the thought of five days in a row with extreme sports a bit repulsive? Maybe you should consider participating in the Open Stage where the teams participating in all of GAR gets competition from participants who has only enrolled for this one day.

Participants in the Open Stage pays a fee covering neccesary equipment for the stage as well as all meals of the day. Transport to breakfast and from the evening meal to accommodation is the responseability of the participants. Consider contacting the local tourist offices for arrangements.

Enrollment

You enroll for the Open Stage in the same manner as if you were enrolling for all of GAR, just the deadline and size of the fee differs, please see below.

Open Stage GAR´10: Leif the Happy Marathon

In 2010 you can choose to participate solemnly in the third stage of GAR and you can choose to do so whithout finding a team-mate as every body finishes this stage as single persons. Enrollment fee is 500 DKK pr. person. Dateline for enrollment and pay will be official spring 2010.

The stage is held on staurday the 21st of August around the settlement of Qassiarsuk. The rute is not yet official, but will lay on clearly marked tracks, dirt roads and gravel roads. On the rute you will find several stands with foods and drinks.

You must arrange your own travel and accommodation. Consider contacting Blue Ice Explorer for a pacage containing both participation and accomodation for the marathon. The enrollment fee covers breakfast, energy barrs, energy drink, food and drink on the track and at the finishing line and the evening dinner. There will be individual time-taking, and all who crosses the finishing line will have a diploma. the fastest woman and the fastest man will recieve a special recognition.
